Maggie Kate and Meredith started piano lessons today. They are very excited about this. Meredith took for a while several years ago and Maggie Kate has been begging to take for a couple of years now. Maggie Kate I have to say is already really good by ear. She can hear a song an then go sit and pick it out at the piano. She started this when she was 4. Uncle Grant was staying with us for a few weeks at Christmas. One night he helped me tuck the girls in and then he came downstairs to play Christmas songs. The next morning we were amazed as Maggie Kate went to the piano and started playing The First Noel. That is one of the songs she heard Grant play the night before while she was suppose to be asleep. After that she started to play songs off of commercials she would hear. Usually when we learn a new song in primary she will come home and play it that day. Well her day has come. Now she can learn all the notes and learn to read music. I am so glad Meredith started back too. She has wished that she had never stopped taking.
Their teacher is the cutest little gal ever! I think the girls are just going to love her! (Mallory is especially excited because she is expecting a baby in August. Mallory hopes she will get to hold her while the others take lessons ;))We just happened to meet her and learn that she teaches piano while we were at stake conference this past session. We are thrilled to find her! Their teacher has a rewards system set up and she told Maggie Kate that she could get 15 extra points if she did a report on a famous composer. Maggie Kate got right on it. She didn't go to bed tonight until it was done!
