To my sweet Max, When I woke up this morning, I thought back about this day one year ago. I felt so sad that day. I was sad because I couldn't be with you on your special day. I thought for sure you would be home by then. It was such a let down when you weren't. I remember sending you a cake and teddy bear hoping you would get it. I wanted you to know your family was thinking about you on your special day. I remember wishing I could give you a big hug and kiss. Oh, how badly I wanted to be with you.
Well, this year it's a different story. You are here at home, and we are going to do it up BIG! I never dreamed I would have another little boy to celebrate birthdays with, but I do, and you couldn't be more special. I hope today and the day we have your BIG party with all your friends will be all that you have been dreaming of (Max has told us over and over he never had a birthday party. He has been inviting people to his party for months :)). Max, this is the first of many birthdays you will get to celebrate with your family. We love you!!!
