Fall Break Over So Soon?

Well, fall break is over and we had to get up and hop to it this morning. After hitting the snooze button several times I managed to finally get up and at it. This morning was going pretty smooth until we were all headed for the door and Mitchell could not find his shoes, he searched everywhere and then came tears. I do not have very much compassion for my 11 year old that can not keep up with something as simple as shoes, so I just waited patiently. He ran out the door hysterical with no shoes. What was he thinking going to school with no shoes? I had to go in and help, but still no shoes, at least not the ones he wanted to wear. I made several suggestions for other shoes and he said no I do not want to wear those...he continued to cry. I know he is probably just worn out from fall break, but the thoughts going through my mind were, are you 11 or are you 2? Finally he just grabbed some other shoes and we were off to school. I really do not like tears in the mornings, but what do you do? Patience patience!

Mallory is home sick. I am taking her to the Dr. today, she has had a fever for the past couple of days, yuck! This is the first day of school that she has missed in the last two years. Last year all four of the kids had perfect attendance. When Maggie Kate's Kindergarten teacher presented her with the certificate last year she was the only one who had perfect attendance in her class and her teacher said that it had been years since she had given a certificate out. I hope little Mallory gets better soon, I can not stand for one of my kids to be sick.

Michael hated to go back to work after being off with us all last week, it is always so hard and I usually cry when he walks out the door (maybe that is where Mitchell gets it) :) I really miss him after he has been home for a week with no work, we just do not get enough time together.

Well, we had a good break just hanging out. We are excited that we learned to knit, all the kids have Christmas projects going. I am almost done with my scarf, I think I am going to do a sweater next. We did lots of sewing and embroidery projects, fun, fun. We read lots of books, I can not believe I actually had time to sit one evening and read an entire book with no interruptions. Not normal! We made some great memories this fall break 2007, can't wait for Thanksgiving break, let see 44 days away!
