Today we went to the silk factory. We saw some of the most beautiful silk fabric. I love all the traditional reds.
This is our guide, Judy, modeling her tailor made silk jacket. I love her jacket...it is gorgeous!!! What do you think Meredith???

Max has started posing for his pictures!
We found Subway!!!
Judy took us to some sports stores. Mitchell had to try out some clubs.
A mama and her boy....a little tired of shopping!!!
Max was mesmerized. He had to try out his swing!

Mitchell is picking up some of the Chinese ways with his peace sign.
It hit me so hard today, how homesick I am for my girls. It has been hard to leave them for so long. You have to understand we have never been away from them...ever. I miss them so bad. I know this week is going to go by so fast though. Max is worth every minute away though, girls you will see. He is all boy and full of energy, but oh such a joy to us. Michael was looking at him this morning while he was asleep and said "Heather, I am tickled to death with him." I am so tickled, too. I can't wait to get home and get on a good schedule with him. I think he is tired of shopping and so is mama. He falls asleep in our arms everyday around 12:00 (his regular nap time) so home will be so good. He runs everywhere he goes from the time he wakes until we go to bed! I think he will be my daily work out :) He is so much fun! We love him so much and can't wait for everyone to see what a joy he is. We are so blessed to have him as our son!!!

Look at all these people....it is like this all day everyday!
One more thing...today our guide asked Max if he knew he was going on a plane in a few days. He told her that his foster mama and baba took him to the beach on a plane. They told him when he goes to America he will fly on a bigger plane. They also told him that America was a wonderful place. Max had a wonderful foster family. He told Judy yesterday that his foster family had two biological children, one daughter who worked, and one son who went to university, but only he and his little foster sister spent the night every night.
Look at all these people....it is like this all day everyday!
I am so thankful Max had a good foster family who loved him so much. I prayed every night for that while we were apart. I will always be thankful for them and hope someday we can meet them.

Heather,
Got the children off to school. No problems and no detours. Are you surprised? I have the trip down pat now. So much for the vita-mixer for the last few days....choc. gravy ordered again this morning. No delilious and nutrious spinach, blueberry, pineapple, and bannana smoothies. I'll leave that up to you. We have declared choc. gravy as the new brain food. Your little wheat grinder (and homemade wheat bread) has been silenced for a few days also. Sorry, but that is the priviledges of being grandmother. We have had a blast. They are soooo much fun. They are so good about getting to bed on time and getting up for me in the morning. All I have to do is yell.... "CHOCOLATE GRAVY". They are afraid that Aunt Paige will eat it all. We didn't see much of Meredith yesterday with her early morning Seminary and dance class from four until 7:30. She had about a 14 hour day yesterday. She is such an easy teenager. So sweet and kind. Mallory and I studied for a science test about matter. Gosh, those fourth grade science books are harder than they use to be!! Of course a lot has transpired and been discovered since my fourth grade years, but I guess the properties of matter will always remain the same.Oh the wonders of the internet! You knew in China that her test had been cancel for today before we did. Mallory says "thanks" for the tip off. She'll just have more time to study. When we get up in the mornings, it reminds me of Christmas Morning. They all run to the internet to see if you have posted from China. They just love to see the pictures of little Max and learn what he has been doing. It gets pretty crowded around the computer, but I love to hear their squeals of delight over everything that you write about him. In the evenings they have to look again and print his pictures to paste everywhere and to take to school. They are really disapointed if they have to leave before you post. They are so excited when he tries to talk to them on on the phone. His little voice is so sweet. They go around imitating his voice constantly. They also miss thier big brother Mitchell. Malory said that she misses his silliness!!! He can be a clown sometimes can't he? Give him a big hug for me. Tell Michael,Mitchell and Max that I love them.
Stay safe,healthy and hurry home.
"MAMA C"
p.s. Paige is really tickled to have an olympic shirt like Michael's. You could never keep a surprise could you!!
I am so happy for you about Max...yet so sad for you being away from your girls. Caorlyn's post about getting them to and from school made me laugh out loud! She is so precious! I love her. I am taking her some biscuits to school this week! I know she will be impressed how far I have come! Have a great rest of your adventure!
Did you get Meredith that silk jacket? I love it!! So, did you get Me and Maggie something yet? If so, I cant wait to see it!!! But the thing I am really excited about is seeing Max! :) Tell Max, Mitchell, and Daddy that I love them and miss them. And you too of course. Mommy, guess what Im reading? Im reading Chinese Cinderella: The True Story of an Unwanted Daughter. The preface made me cry. Ive never really cried during a story before. I love it! Its so good. I love you

Mom~
I am so impressed that you have gotten the girls off to school...WOW!!! I am going to expect that when you come visit again...you can give me a break now! :) Thank you so much for taking time to come stay with them, I know that by having you there has made our absence easier on the girls.
Mallory~
The book you are reading sounds so good! I love books that just captivate you when you read the preface. Yes, we have you something, and you are going to love it! I miss you Mallory. I can't wait for one of your sweet hugs!
Maggie~
I miss you and Meredith, too. I have you something, too. Max even has something for all your classmates when he comes to school to meet them!!! I love you all and can't wait to get home.
Heather, We are down to the count down. Caroline didn't want maggie to go to dance this afternoon! She said this whole china trip hasn't given her enough time with Maggie like she had planned. Funny! I guess driving around dropping and picking up kids is not enough at home time to play!
The girls looked cute today. Mallory had a little skirt on! She's like her Mama C.
Paige told me about the sweat shirt too. I laughed...Heather and her secrets! Funny I didn't even notice what michael had on. Now I have to go back and look!!!
Things are running smooth-you have prepared them well and Heavenly Father's hand is really involved...especially that your mom made it to school 2 mornings!!! Just kidding Mama C!
As soon as we dropped Mallory off she ran in and came back to let us know you had updated if we wanted to come in and check!!! Sweet!
Miss you all so much. Hurry home.
Email me the travel info for the airport I have already forgot!
Oh I love your family!! Chocolate Gravy- yum. I will be getting the ingredients next store run- my girls are already excited for it. You guys are an amazing family and I am thrilled to be able to keep in touch with you all through your blog. Thank you.
Heather, I came across your blog through Meghan Meredith's. I'm Kristen (Cherry) Shumway...do you remember you did my hair for my wedding reception in Murfreesboro in 1995?! Wasn't that forever ago?
It was so fun to see all the pictures of your family and your new son...what a special experience for you and your family. Congratulations!
