Thank goodness for friends!

I got up this morning and hit the ground running...like all moms do-right! I was on schedule and everything was going smoothly. I had my shower, made breakfast, and was out the door @ 5:50AM for my first round of drop offs. As I was backing out of my drive way I noticed my gas light was on. I knew I wouldn't make it to Meredith's destination and back home without filling up. So I dropped Meredith off, then headed for the nearest gas station. I was pulling in on fumes!!! I got up to the pump-then the panic hit ...I had no purse!!! I had no way to pay for my gas!!! Panic! Panic! There was no way I could even make it home!!! I thought for a minute. Then I started looking all through the van for something I could give the clerk. You know- something for him to hold on to until I could come back and pay for the gas. Then I realized-he is not going to do that! What to do! What to do! Panic! Panic! Then a light bulb came on in my head. I thought of my dear friend Gretchen. She only lived a couple of minutes from the gas station, so I called her...all she could do is laugh! We both got so tickled. We are so much alike! Thank goodness for good friends!!! She gladly came to my rescue and brought me some gas money.
Thanks Gretchen, you're the best!!! I owe you big time:)

I always have my second graders to memorize this little verse:

To give advice is very nice,
but friends should do much more.
Friends should always help a friend,
Cause that's what friends are for!

Gretchen thank you for being such a good friend for my daughter!! You are true blue. She owes you big time!
I love you Gretchen.

Mama C. I love that verse. I am going to print it off for my kiddos!!!

I was glad she started my day with a laugh! I haven't laughed so hard as I did this morning in a long time...that sounds so much like something I would do and have done! It took me forever to get there because I couldn't find my keys!!!
Heather you are the closest thing I have ever had to a sis. Now we have just another funny memory to add to the memory bank!

That sound just like me Heather! I once paid for gas in pennies, nickles and dimes. The clerk wasn't happy about counting it either!

I'm glad someone was able to come to your rescue! I know that panic feeling - I've done it at the check out line with a cart full of groceries!
