Count Down To THE PARTY!!!

Tonight we are going to celebrate Maggie Kate's 7th birthday and she is so excited. Tomorrow is actually her real birthday, but we had to have the sleepover/party tonight.

The day:

7:30 am:

Maggie: Mom how long time till the friends come?

Me: 8 1/2 hours

Maggie: Show me with your hands. How far apart are they? ( you get the picture)

Me: About this much, it will be here before you know it.

Maggie: Ok we need to hurry and make the cake. They will be here in no time.

Me: Ok

Maggie: We have to hurry and decorate the house too.

Me: I will get the birthday decoration box out so we can get started.

Maggie: (with a big smile on her face) I am so excited I am going to be 7. Mom can you believe it?

Me: (Feeling happy and sad all at the same time) I can not believe it, it seems like yesterday that I was coming home from the hospital with you. My baby is growing up!

This went on all day until the moment of arrival came and her friends were finally here. Adding in about 2 hours before they got here she was running to the door to look out and see if they were here yet.(So cute)

I can remember days when I was little and something big was going to happen later, it seemed like it took forever to get to the time of the event.

Maggie Kate helped with her cake, she asked for a big sugar cookie with white icing and she wanted it to say Girls Night, so it does. She decorated it herself, and I think it is beautiful. She says it is the best cake she has ever had. The menu was homemade pizza, mac and cheese with raspberry pop (all her favorites). Maggie also did the decorating around the house. For the places she could not reach but wanted to put something she just directed her dad to it. We had to lite a GC birthday cake candle to get the atmosphere just right.
Its an original by Maggie Kathryn Matheny. Decorating! The wonderful smell of birthday cake filled the air!

I had to get a picture of the waiting and watching. The whole family pitched in with the preparations, and before you know it we were all done and ready to party!

Maggie Kate got ready and had big sis Meredith help her pick out her outfit. She fixed her own hair of coarse. You know I am not allowed to ever fix my girls hair :-) (such independence).

The first guest , Maggie H. They run upstairs and High School musical CD is blaring, laughing, singing, fun, fun.

Finally all the guest are here. Lets Party! We have 2 Maggie's and 2 Caroline's.

Caroline C. just got home from Disney so she brought Maggie a Disney art set.
Mallory got her a car and a traveling ball for her hamster Nibbles.

Maggie H. made some beautiful bracelets for Maggie.

The treat bags I made with my new embroidery machine for the girls to take home. Down for the count. And they are out!

The girls had so much fun just playing tonight. They loved doing art with Maggie's new art set, that is what they did most of the night. When it was time for bed Maggie wanted to make beds in the floor and we hooked a TV up so they could watch Cinderella Story. They were out in no time flat! Maggie has had a day full of excitement and fun!

So, I found YOUR blog through Gretchen, too. :-) Sounds like a fun party. I love all the pics on your blog. Looks like things have been fun over there. Tell Michael that Don's dirt bike is for sale. We'll buy another one in a year or so. We have greater goals right now, and the sale of that helps us fulfill them. We may end up selling them all... not sure yet. Life's really good over here, though! We are happy and it is an exciting chapter in our life!! If you guys ever come here again, you'll definitely have to call us!!
