Fall Break Thus Far...

After putting different options on all the different places we could go on break the kids informed us that they did not want to go anywhere for Fall Break. The only thing they said they wanted to do was spend time with the family at home, so that is what we have done this week.

Monday we had a day of just hanging out around the house played a few board games and had a nice lunch outside.

Tuesday we did the same, but we added a movie and some reading. Actually a ton of reading. Each day this week one of the highlights has been reading a book called Cotton, Cane and Kids. This book is a journal of my Great Great Uncle Sam Foster. I love reading family history, it gives me such a sense of knowing those wonderful relatives that are part of my past and make me who I am today. Reading about my Uncle Sam and his family has made everyone of my kids say mom I wish we lived back in the olden days :) I have to say I have the same feeling.

I am so grateful for those family members who kept journals and for those of you who have done such a great job with genealogy. Thanks!

Wednesday me, Mallory and Maggie Kate went over to a friends house and we learned to knit. We had so much fun and we are just knitting away. We had to teach Mitchell when we got home too. Michael and Mitchell spent the day hanging out doing the guy thing outside playing bball and riding dirt bikes. Meredith was at church most of the day decorating for YW in excellence.

Thursday- today we had to clean the first part of the day, because we are having a big day tomorrow.....Maggie Kate's Birthday party is tomorrow!!!! Me and the kids have knitted the rest of the day....fun fun.

So far we have enjoyed not having any plans, just hanging out and having fun together....

Wow! You've been blogging for awhile now, huh? It was so much fun to catch up with your family. I still can't believe how much Meredith looks like you!!! (Kierstyn and I get that ALL the time and she is starting to hate it!) All your kiddos are growing up...so much fun to see what they're like now. Thanks for filling my blogging reading need--I've got another daily read (well, 2 if you count Gretchen's!) Love it!!!

My post will be the same as Jen's. My mom sent me a link to your blog. I caught up on all of it. My mouth drops open when I see a picture of your kids (all the pictures). They have grown into beautiful children just like I knew they would. Must had been that great baby-sitter they had. Looks like life is grand for you- love the picture of the kids in your bed... used to just be baby Meredith and me in there when Michael worked nights. Now you have a packed bed. We are expecting baby girl #3 in late February and just moving along with life. Love to the whole Matheny family!!
