He volunteered to say the opening prayer in Primary at church on Sunday. For those of you who read this blog and don't know what Primary is, I will explain. Primary consists of all the children in our church ages 3-12, so this was a big deal. He was very cute. You would have thought he was everyone's little boy or little brother. Everyone in the room was just beaming with excitement for him. He loves to say his prayers and always wants to be the one to say them here at home :)Max also got his very first CTR (choose the right) ring on Sunday. He was so cute when he walked in the room to show me. He loves and cherishes it!
A couple of other firsts Max had last week that I didn't get pictures of, were his first ballgame and his first shots. His Aunt Paige and Uncle Grant came and took the kids to one of Uncle Eric's ballgames, while Michael and I had a date night. Max loved the ballgame. It sounds like his Uncle Eric was on a cloud-showing him off to everyone. Paige said during the ballgame, Max would scream from across the court, "Uncle Eric, listen to me".
As far as his shots go-they didn't even phase him. I ask him if it hurt and he said, "No Mama that not hurt me." We went for ice cream after it was all over though.
Max is such an amazing little boy. Each day we are more amazed at him. His English is unreal. It is like he has always spoken English...really! He is growing like a weed. He has gained a total of 7 lbs. since his Dr. appointment in China(2 1/2 months ago). We went to eat lunch with Mitchell on Monday. The principal saw him and asked me what in the world I was feeding him. He couldn't believe how much he has grown since we first came home. His jeans are getting two short for him already!
We are truly enjoying everything about him. He is such an easy child! We only have to tell him things once, then he gets it. If he ever does something he isn't suppose to, he immediately remembers then starts saying,"Oh I sorry." He is so smart and loves to learn new things each day. I think his favorite thing to do each day though is to watch Curious George. Maybe because he is just like George...curious!!! He asks me every morning if he can watch "the monkey." I love to hear him get tickled at George, sometimes he just belly rolls with laughter.
I have a hard time thinking of him going to school in August. I have missed so much of his life already. I am trying to absorb as much as I can each day. I am thinking and praying about homeschooling him for a year, just so I can have one more year with him. We will see...

He is amazing isn't he. I can just see you beaming as I read this. To homeschool or not. I am sure you will know what to do when the time is right. You will know what is right for the two of you. Prayers your way.
How fun!! I am sure it is exciting to experienc all these firsts. If you do decide to homeschool I have a couple of friends that do it and have some good programs. Homeschooling for kindergarten here wouldn't be that big of a deal because the kids only go for 2 1/2 hours. Pretty ridiculous. Good luck with everything.
He is amazing Heather! I am sure he is doing so well because he is part of such a wonderful family!
Go for it. Especially kindergarten year. I agree..he is the most precious thing ever. I can't seem to get enough of him. I loved it when I was one the phone with him and he said "Gretchen, can I come to you-come on!" sweetest boy.
a great post!
He had the whole primary room so reverent because everyone wanted to hear him!
So glad he's here.
Oh, it's so hard that I haven't even been able to meet him!! What an amazing little guy. I'm so impressed with how well you guys are doing with him. Makes me miss Chu Chu like CRAZY! (:
Hey, there's a good chance my friend Heather is moving to Murfreesboro-- isn't that just crazy?
