Ring Ring Goes The Bell....First day of school 2009

Summer has come and gone once again, way to fast!!! I have to say though, this year when the first day of school rolled around, I was way to busy thinking about getting the house ready to sell to get very upset. Naturally, I was sad to have the kids go back; but I really didn't have much time to think about it.

Meredith is a Sophomore this year, Mitchell 8th grade, Mallory 5th grade, Maggie Kate 3rd and guess what??? Max started Kindergarten!!! I was really sad, and I did cry about him going to school. Our initial plan was that I would homeschool him for Kindergarten, so he could be home for one more year....I haven't had enough time with him. I was heart broken, but he was so ready to go. This is what took place...we had been praying all summer what to do about Max's schooling. Was homeschool the answer? Should we do preschool for a year? We just wanted to make sure of our decision. Well, the first day of school for the other kids came around and Max started saying, "What about Max, Mama, please can Max go to school, too?" When we went to buy the kid's supplies, he wanted school supplies, a lunch box, and a back pack, too. We felt so sorry for him. He wanted to go to school so badly just like his siblings. So, Max started school too, and he is loving every minute of it! He asks me every night if he has school tomorrow, and when I say yes, he gets excited.

We love Mrs. Petty. Meredith had her in 3rd grade, too.
We love Mrs. Campbell, too. Meredith and Mitchell had her in 5th.

Max was all smiles on his ride to school.I love this picture of Max and Baba walking in on his first day.

And we quickly fell in love with Max's teacher, Mrs. Johnson. I hope he gets a teacher as sweet as her when we move. He tells me he loves her and that she is a good boy ;)

When I picked Max up after his first day of school, he got in the van with tons of excitement, and quickly said, "Mama, Max has two friends." As we drove to get the other kids he would just burst into laughter. When I ask him what he was laughing about, he would tell me about something that had happened on the playground. He talked about the playground all afternoon. I don't know which is his favorite, playing on the playground or eating in the cafeteria. He loves the cafeteria food, too ;)

It sounds like you have made the right decision about Max and school! I hope all of the kids adjust well to the move!

Can't believe how old your kiddos are now...Makes me sad. Loren Claire will turn 4 next Monday and it makes me cry just thinking of it. Moving is good...but hard. I pray for you all. I know you are like me and will make the most of it and see what God has in store for you. lIke I told Meredith, I try to look at it like expanding my friendships...I will never forget my friends in M'boro and I tell my new friends in Charlotte about them all of the time. Of course I call you guys my peeps and they don't like it...well they need to know me for many more years...best of luck I miss you guys!

Mrs. Johnson is such a sweet lady and a good teacher. Noah didn't have her but I knew her through some of the school functions. One of Carson's friends, Lauren Jones, is in Max's class. Hope all is well. Please email me with details of your upcoming moving. I know how you are feeling. Love you! Tell Meredith we miss her terribly.
